Another month had flown by without notice and it was time for me to receive my October Birchbox.
In October boxes took an astrological twist with the design revolving around our star signs. Being an Aquarius (my birthday is soon!) my box took on an Air theme featuring the stars.
The NKD Skin Pre-Shower Tan or Daily Tan Moisturizer isn’t something that I would pick for myself – I’m not into self tan products and maintain a constant shade of sickly pale. I might give this a go, though I’m hoping I don’t end up smelling like biscuits!
Doux Me Pure Spring Mist is a facial spray to use before moisturiser to help refresh and hydrate the complexion. As this product is nothing more than spring water I’m feeling it may be somewhat gimmicky, especially when it retails at £16 a can.
Birchbox made an error with this box, and sent us the Batiste XXL Volume Spray, which we had received in September. Its always nice to have a spare, but I’m a little disappointed that this has happened, but Birchbox sent an apology email offering us the choice of an item to make up for it in the following box.
Also in the box was a Birchbox Eyebrow Brush. Great.
Number 4 seems to be a regular in Birchboxes, and this month we received a Fluoro5 Elixir Repair and Restore Oil. This little bottle packs a punch, nourishing strands giving hair strength and shine. I only need a little as my hair is very fine, and I’m wary of using too much of an oil on my hair.
To finish off the box was a Lord and Berry Maxi Matte Crayon Lipstick in Intimacy shade. I don’t really use lip tints, apart from my favourite Lancôme Juicy Shakers. The shade is quite a deep berry colour, so would bet ideal for the colder months.
Remember if you want to sign up use my refer a friend code on this link and you’ll get £5 worth of points to spend in their online store.
I think I still may pause my Birchbox subscription when it gets to a year – if I’m being honest I haven’t committed as much time as I would have liked to trying the products. The boxes, beautiful as some of them may be, are currently piling up on my bookcase and I don’t think I could amass many more.
